Spray Foam Insulation
Spray Foam Insulation is a form of insulating that creates a seamless air barrier instantly upon application. Expanding instantly, Spray Foam fills into every nook and cavity, leaving no holes, cracks, or seams for outside air to get in or inside air to escape out. With a higher R-Value than traditional fiberglass or blown-in cellulose insulations, Spray Foam Insulation will never settle, sag, or shrink. TYPES OF SPRAY FOAM INSULATION
Closed Cell Insulation
Identifiable by its yellow color and rigid surface, Closed Cell Insulation provides a High R Value (R – 6.7 per Inch) as well as a greater resistance to the leakage of air and water vapor. Closed Cell Insulation provides excellent moisture and vapor barrier for applications below grade or in moisture and vapor rich environments. Closed Cell Insulation also provides significant additional structural strength.
Open Cell Insulation
Identifiable by its light green color and soft surface, Open Cell Insulation provides an excellent R Value (R – 4.2 per Inch) at a great cost. Open Cell Insulation provides a seamless air barrier which also acts as a sound barrier, reducing outside noise up to 75%.
Thermal Barrier Coatings
DC315 THERMAL BARRIER COATING
DC 315 is interior ignition or thermal barrier coating for spray polyurethane foam insulation. Depending on your particular application, an ignition or a thermal barrier are required by Building Code. DC 315 is water based latex system that dries quickly and reaches maximum properties in less than 14 days.
DC 315 over polyurethane foam to prevent surface ignition due to a flame source. This product will inhibit or prevent the start and spread of flame encountered on the surface and is designed to be a long term protective barrier.
DC 315 is a coating specifically formulated for application over spray foam insulation. DC 315 will inhibit or prevent the start and spread of flame. The coating can be used as an ignition barrier or thermal barrier depending on the thickness installed over the foam.
DC 315 complies with ICC-ES AC 377 Appendix X (Modified NFPA 286) concerning fire protection and spray foam insulation. As of Jan 1, 2011 ALL brands of spray foam must meet the criteria of Appendix X to meet building Code.
TPR2 FIRESHELL® NFPA 286 THERMAL BARRIER INTUMESCENT COATING
FIRESHELL® (F10E) is a proprietary non-flammable, intumescing interior coating that provides oxygen starvation to fire. It is a non-toxic, water based, drain safe, no fuming GREEN product.
FIRESHELL® passes full scale room corner over foam NFPA 286 and E84 class A certified. It is a water based one part coating system that comes white but is available in a variety of different colors.
